The GLC-LH-SM is an internal data connectivity interface module engineered to deliver cost-effective network transformation and enhanced system stability within multi-node server frameworks. Functioning as a high-performance hot-swappable SFP optical transceiver, this network interface converter installs directly into standard Gigabit Ethernet SFP slots to connect host routers or switches to optical grids. Operating over a 1310nm wavelength, it reliably drives data transmission up to 10 kilometers over standard single-mode fiber (SMF) cables, or up to 550 meters over legacy multimode fiber (MMF) networks using a mode-conditioning patch cable. By establishing stable optical links, it sustains internal data processing pipelines across high-density databases, continuous multi-threaded enterprise workloads, and legacy hardware consolidations. Its fault-isolated layout manages internal bus communication cleanly, shielding core operational paths from signaling latency, packet drops, or single-point-of-failure throughput disruptions during continuous high-availability runtime operations.
